Results of 51st 'A' group tiatr competition announced

The Kala Academy Goa has announced the results of the 51st Tiatr ‘A’ Group Competition 2025–26, with Ditam Toxem Ghetam by Matias Creative Group, Calangute, securing the first prize, followed by Jivitachi Sanz by St Domnic Dramatic Troup, Merces, in second place, and Yo Nhi Porot by Barebhat Social & Cultural Association, Raia-Salcete, finishing third. 75 Not Out by Kala Mogi, Orda Candolim, received the consolation prize.

In individual acting categories, Ashwin De Souza (Inspector) from Ditam Toxem Ghetam won Best Actor (Male), while Santan Luis D’Melo (Peter) from Jivitachi Sanz secured second place. Merit certificates were awarded to Mathew De Souza (Perry) for Monis Chukta, Dev Chukonam and Anthony Carvalho (Bonifacio) for 75 Not Out. In the female acting category, Merlyan Rodrigues (Sara) from Doia Dakhoi won first place, followed by Antonet D’Souza (Siya) from Dista Toxem Nasta, with merit certificates going to Alisha Maria Menezes (Adel), Vanita Salvina D’Costa (Avoi), and Andrea Maria Dias (Angel).

Alvito Pires De Menezes (Vilasrao) from Yo Nhi Porot won Best Negative Role, with Salil Naik (Christopher) from Dista Toxem Nasta as runner-up, while merit certificates were awarded to Julia Benicia Monteiro and Christopher D’Souza. Christopher Menezes (Costao) from 75 Not Out won Best Comedian (Male), and Kasvina Godcy Cardozo (Rose) from Savli Opradachi won Best Comedian (Female).

In the child artiste category, Parv Santosh Shetkar (Pik Pik) from Oxir Dharvonteachi Runddai and Aswina Fernandes (Mary) from Doia Dakhoi won the male and female awards respectively.

For technical excellence, Matias Mascarenhas won Best Direction for Ditam Toxem Ghetam, with Nilesh Mahale (Jivitachi Sanz) and Marcos Gonsalves (Yo Nhi Porot) securing second and third places. Sijoy Coelho won Best Setting, while Nilesh Mahale also won Best Light Effects. The Best Music (Band) award went to Selvyn JC Braganza, Theodore Alvares, Nevil Cardozo, Leander Mascarenhas, and Louis Mascarenhas for Ditam Toxem Ghetam. Eknath Naik won Best Make-Up for 75 Not Out, and Stacie Violet Fernandes won Best Costumes for Savli Opradachi. Sachin Chowgule secured Best Background Music for Oxir Dharvonteachi Runddai.

In singing categories, Victor D Cunha (Dollaracho Xevto) from Dilelem Utor and Jennifer Fernando from Bodmas won Best Male and Female Singer (Solo) respectively, with Boanerges Alvim and Livia Santalina D’Silva finishing second. David Pereira (Yo Nhi Porot) and Evola Couto (Oxir Dharvonteachi Runddai) won Best Comedy Solo (Male and Female). Among child singers, Mikhail Ralston D’Costa and Valencia Goes won the male and female categories.

Chelsea Valera Paes, Maizel Fernandes, Siya Gomes, and Celeste Velushe Paes from Dilele Utor won Best Choral Cantar Singing, while Anle Barbosa and Jonas Vaz (Yo Nhi Porot) won Best Duet. Simran Aliva Rodrigues and Gigi Rose Fernandes (Jivitachi Sanz) won Best Duo, while Priyanka Dias, Nyssa Gretchen Fernandes, and Maysa Cleva Pinto (Running Race) won Best Trio. Laban Menezes, Skeeter Nazareth, Erin Goveia, and Hannah Pereira (Svotontr Vo Gulam) won Best Quartet/Quintet.

Tomazinho Cardozo won Best Lyrics for 75 Not Out, while Matias Mascarenhas (Ditam Toxem Ghetam) and Joaquim Dias (Jivitachi Sanz) secured first and second place respectively in the Best Script category.

The competition was judged by Menino Fernandes, Mario Pereira, and Vishwas Chari.
