The Revolutionary Goans (RG) on Tuesday announced its first list of candidates for nine constituencies for the ensuing Assembly poll to the State legislature.
RG, which is foraying in State politics on the Goa Su-Raj Party banner is the first political front in the state to announce its first list of candidates.
The candidates are as follows Viresh Borker (St Andre), Vishwesh Naik (Priol), Shrikrishna Parab (Mayem), Aditya Dessai (Curchorem), Sunayana Gawde (Mandrem), Rubert Pereira (Curtorim), Arvind Dcosta (Nuvem), Francisco Gonsalves (Calangute) and Wilson Cardozo (Cuncolim).
Addressing the media, Party leader Manoj Parab said, "a series of lists will be out every week so that our candidates can reach out to maximum people".
Explaining the reason that people's feedback is being assessed for his candidature in 2-3 constituencies Parab said that his name will be in the second or the third list.
Reacting on the fact that all candidates in the first list are young candidates Parab said that his candidates will create a new history by winning.
Parab also said his party will contest elections in all 40 constituencies without any seat-sharing formula or tie-up with an aim to make a change in Goa.
Alleging that other parties were delaying to declare their candidates as they are looking at tie-ups, he said, "not a single party has declared a candidate...there is no consensus in these parties”.
Speaking on the criteria for selecting candidates Parab said, “RG has a different approach. We have chosen candidates who have worked for people by approaching them”.
Parab also announced that RG candidates will connect with people through technology and within a week an app will be launched for connectivity.
Parab said after declaring candidates RG will declare its CM candidate before election. “Our CM candidate or Deputy CM will not be based on any caste or religion, he added.
KANNADA BHAVAN: RG said it is opposed to the idea of a Kannad Bhavan in Goa stating that the announcement is ploy of Karnataka BJP to garner Kanadigas votes to Goa BJP.
“We are a small state and to preserve our cultural identity we should not allow any State bhavan in Goa. This is a ploy of Karnataka BJP to gather votes ", said Manoj Parab.
