RGP seeks action against beggars in Vasco

VASCO

Hailing the Vasco police for detecting various crimes in recent days, the Revolutionary Goans party from Dabolim on Saturday has also appealed to the police and elected representatives to act against the rising beggar menace in the port town.
"The police have really been very quick in detecting crimes and they have provided a great sense of security to Vasco city. We would, however, appeal to authorities to take action against the menace of beggars in the city, since the Mormugao Municipal Council appears to be helpless to act against the beggars,” said RG member Gaurish Borkar.
Another RG member, Jenovio Dias, said there was no reason for any authority to ignore the beggars, who have been growing in numbers.
"These beggars are not from Goa and they have now become crime lords. While we salute Vasco police for their quick action in detecting crimes, we request them to take action against beggars," said Dias.
