OLD GOA
The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) will launch its padyatra campaign on Mhadei from Thane-Sattari, from February 20.
Divulging this to reporters, RGP supremo Manoj Parab informed that this will be the first phase of the padyatra campaign which will cover a total of 100 kms over a period of 9 days.
“The campaign will begin from Thane and cover all the villages of Sattari before culminating at Usgao. Daily, the padyatra will commence from 4.30 pm and end at around 9 pm,” Parab informed.
“Villagers would be given awareness on the need to save Mhadei from diversion as it would have adverse effect on Goa and Goans if the waters are allowed to be diverted.”
“There are still some Goans who have not understood the impact the Mhadei water diversion would have on Goa and hence, it is important to take the issue to the doorsteps of every Goan,” he added.
Meanwhile, when questioned on the allegations levelled against him by former member of the party Gauresh Gaonkar, Parab challenged anybody to prove allegations that he got funding from any party.
“Anybody can make allegations and I can’t go on clarifying to all and sundry. Let those who have levelled allegations first prove that I have accepted funds,” Parab said.
