A 51-year old rickshaw driver was killed in a tragic accident on the NH 66 at Cuncolim-Sarzora stretch on Wednesday evening after a speeding car rammed against him and his parked carrier.
The two occupants of the ill-fated car are admitted to the South Goa district hospital for treatment of injuries.
Cuncolim police informed that the rickshaw driver Suresh Chipan had parked his vehicle at the spot since the vehicle was engaged for painting the road signages.
Cuncolim police station in-charge, PI Diogo Gracias informed the speeding car rammed against the rickshaw and the driver before the ill-fated car landed in the low lying field. The rickshaw driver was declared brought dead at the South Goa district hospital.
PI Gracias said the two occupants of the car, Carlito Afonso and Galad, father-son duo are convalescing at the South district hospital.
