MARGAO
Students and citizens from South Goa assembled at the historic Lohia Maidan, Margao on Wednesday to condemn the rape and murder of the lady doctor at Kolkata.
A girl student told the media that rapes are not happening because women are wearing short clothes and going to lonely places, but because of the sick mentality of the people of India and the world against women.
“It is high time that people stop looking at women the wrong way. We should remember that women are also human beings. It is high time that men understand that women too enjoy equality in every sense”, remarked a girl student.
After assembling at the Lohia Maidan, the students and citizens took out a peaceful rally in the city.
