A 28-year-old man from Calangute died in a self-accident when his two-wheeler hit a roadside footpath near the football ground at the Tinto in Candolim in the wee hours of Friday.
The accident occurred around 4.15 am when Shivnesh Bandodkar was travelling from Candolim towards Calangute on his electric two-wheeler.
He lost control of the two-wheeler, and the vehicle hit the roadside footpath. Bandodkar fell onto the road and sustained serious injuries. He was initially admitted to the Candolim Health Centre for treatment and was later referred to the GMC hospital at Bambolim. He died in the afternoon while undergoing treatment. Calangute PSI Vignesh Naik is conducting further investigation into the incident.
