A 46-year-old French national was found lying dead at a hostel in Palolem.
According to Canacona police, Christopher Michel along with a compatriot had arrived at Palolem on Wednesday afternoon and were staying in a dormitory at the hostel.
Both had dinner at Patnem and returned to the dormitory at Palolem on Wednesday night, when Michel complained of being unwell and went to sleep. Michel did not wake up till Thursday afternoon, prompting the friend to inform the hostel manager, who, in turn, alerted an ambulance. A 108 ambulance went to the site and paramedics examined Michel, before declaring him dead.
Canacona police conducted the pannchanama and sent the body for an autopsy to the South Goa District Hospital Margao.
Canacona police has registered a case of unnatural death and PSI Rajshekhar Reddy is investigating the case.
