About 70-odd supporters of Khandeparkar gathered in front of Ponda Block president Vishwanath Dalvi’s residence at Khadpabandh and sought to know why the ticket was given to Desai.
BJP South Goa working committee member Digamber Jalmi has also threatened to rebel if party failed to rollback its decision and allot the party ticket to Khandeparkar.
Later, they summoned Khandeparkar to the spot and Khandeparkar told the irate supporters that he would obey the party’s decision.
When contacted, Sunil Desai said the party had unofficially told him that the ticket has been given to him.
“If the party gives me the ticket, I will contest. Finally, it is the party’s decision. It is the duty of the party to persuade the rebels,” Desai added.
