The second round of Covid vaccination began at the Chicalim Sub District Hospital (SDH) on Saturday, with doctors appealing to the people not to have miscommunication and negative thoughts about the Covid vaccine.
Chicalim SDH Health Officer Dr Anil Umbraskar told reporters that 80 of the 100 persons in the list were vaccinated on Saturday and said none of them complained of any reaction.
"We will vaccinate staff of the Chicalim SDH and health workers of the Vasco Urban Health Centre, including Anganwadi workers," said Dr Umbraskar.
Meanwhile, Dr Vivek Pillai of the Chicalim SDH appealed to people not to have negative thoughts about the Covid vaccine.
"We have begun the second session of vaccination at the Chicalim SDH. During the first round, 70 beneficiaries had received the vaccine and a few of them had very minor reactions like fever, body ache and headache, but this is all self-limiting and lasts for a maximum of two days.”
“By the third day, everyone was fine and there were no serious effects and no major side effects of the vaccine. I urge people not to give any misinformation about the vaccine and everyone must be ready to take the benefits of the vaccine to eliminate this pandemic," said Dr Pillai.
