Around 100 healthcare workers attached to the Hospicio hospital took a jab of the COVID-19 vaccine in round-2 of the vaccination drive at the TB hospital, Margao on Saturday.
There were no reports of any side effects amongst the health workers after taking the vaccine, sources said.
With Saturday’s vaccination drive, the number of healthcare workers from Hospicio, who have undergone the vaccination has touched 183.
Health officials pointed out not a single case of a side effect was reported by any of the 100 healthcare workers who received the vaccine on Saturday. Last time around, around 28 out of 83 healthcare workers, had complained of side effects such as flu-type symptoms like fever, body ache.
“So far, none of the 100 healthcare workers who received the vaccine has complained of any side effects. But, we are closely monitoring the situation and have requested the vaccine beneficiaries to get back to the health officials in case of any side effects”, the official said.
Meanwhile, Hospicio COVID vaccine program Nodal Officer, Dr Ira Almeida has informed that the next round of vaccination for Hospicio healthcare workers will take place on Wednesday and Friday in the coming week. “We have planned to vaccinate all the Hospicio workers on priority before the staff of the Urban Health Centre undergoes vaccination,” Dr Ira said.
