Cybercrime police station on Saturday booked an offence against one Swapnil Naik and users of the Facebook profile under the name of "Prachi Gaunker" for duping a Poriem resident to the tune of Rs 20 lakh.
According to the complaint, in the year 2018, accused Naik, impersonators using the FB profile "Prachi Gaunker" and users of mobile number 8277303719 along with their associates used computer resources and made the complainant transfer Rs 20 lakh in various bank accounts under the pretext of getting married to him.
PI Vishwesh Karpe is investigating the case which has been booked under Section 419, 420 read with Section 34 of IPC and Section 66-D of IT Act.
