Three out of the 14 Congress candidates have declared their assets worth more than Rs 15 crore with Vishwajeet Rane sitting pretty on top of the table at Rs 23.90 crore followed by Agnelo Fernandes and Jennifer Monseratte with assets worth Rs 17.78 crore and 15.40 crore respectively.
Party president Luizinho Faleiro is worth Rs 9.09 crore and ranked fourth in the list.
The declarations were made the candidates in their affidavits and submitted to the Election Commission.
Though Valpoi candidate and sitting MLA Vishwajeet Rane in 2012 declared his total assets at Rs 15 crore, over 5 years, he has managed to increase his riches to Rs 23.90 crore, making him the highest in the list.

BJP and MGP in
a close contest
Bicholim constituency is expected to witness a close fight between BJP and MGP in the upcoming polls with both going tooth and nail to gain ground in the constituency.
According to most of the Bicholim residents, BJP candidate Rajesh Patnekar has a major hold in the city area while MGP candidate Naresh Sawal has most of his support from the villages of Mencurem and Sal. However, in Mulgao village, there is no specific inclination towards one candidate.

ST CRUZ
Tough fight this
time, no walkover
With all political parties fielding new faces in St Cruz for the 2017 polls, the electoral fate of the constituency is presently threatening to boil down to individual votebank of the candidates.
A group of senior citizens was of the opinion that St Cruz would witness a tough fight on February 4.
"All these candidates such as Pakka, Rodolfo, Tony, Hemant are from our villages. They are known faces and it's hard to say who has more clout," said one of the elderly men.
