MARGAO
Addresing a press conference, Pundalik Parkar claimed that the account in the name of his real estate firm where Vibhav Parkar and Surekha are registered as partners, has been in existence at this Margao based bank over the last six years. Parkar said his son Vibhav received a message on his mobile phone on Wednesday morning claiming that an amount of Rs 9 lakh in two equal installments of Rs 4.5 lakh each has been transferred to bank accounts in Thane and Kolkata. He said no cheque to this effect for such a transfer of such an amount has been issued by them.
Explaining the modus-operandi of the fraudsters, Parkar said his son Vibhav's SIM card of a private service provider was automatically de-activated recently without the subscriber's consent two days ago. Parkar claimed that the fraudster must have cracked the OTP and a new SIM card was issued to the fraudsters, again without the subscriber's (complainant) consent. He questioned as to how a new SIM card was issued in the complainant subscriber's name without latter's consent and proper documentation.
Parkar said he had lodged a complaint with police as well as sent his complaint to the DGP and IGP through e-mail.
