Verna police have arrested 53-year-old Manoj Naik of Zuarinagar on charges of outraging the modesty of a woman from Sancoale.
The complainant informed police that the accused on August 10 at 6.30 pm sent WhatsApp massages to her showing his love, affection and care, despite the disinterest shown by the complainant.
Naik was accused of criminally trespassing into the flat of the complainant armed with an iron rod with the intention to assault the complainant and her relative. He is alleged to have abused the complainant and her relative and threatened them them with dire consequences.
Naik was later arrested under Sections 354- D, 354, 323. 448, 504, 506(ii) of IPC based on a complaint filed by the woman.
Verna PSI Pravin Shimepurushkar is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Diago Gracias.
