Save lives, stop scoring political goals: UGDP

MARGAO
President of the United Goans Democratic Party Dr Jorson Fernandes has urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to stop scoring political goals when the hospitals, including the Goa Medical College, Bambolim are still facing an acute shortage of beds, manpower and oxygen.

“As the way things are sadly unfolding, it gives an impression that the Chief Minister and the Health Minister feel that the race to power is more important than saving precious lives of Goans. Stop scoring political goals,” Dr Jorson demanded.

He lamented that the adamant Chief Minister who is not ready to listen to anyone is like the “hare” and the CoronaVirus the “tortoise” that won the race.

“The Health Minister openly admits, though belatedly, that there is mismanagement in handling the crisis, especially at the Goa Medical College Hospital. Then, there is the Chief Minister, who belatedly admits that there has been a delay in the supply of oxygen cylinders at the

GMC Hospital. It surely calls for declaring a state of emergency,” the UGDP president demanded.
