Vasco-based environmental activist Adv Savio Correia was on Friday appointed as the Director of Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) headed by Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco.
A noted social worker, environmental activist and renowned lawyer, Adv Correia was appointed as director of GIDC through a notification issued by the Department of Industries on Thursday.
The notification was issued by Pritidas Gaonkar, Under-secretary for Industries, in the exercise of the powers conferred by Section 4 of Goa Industrial Development Corporation Act, 1965 (Act 22 of 1965) and supersession of the Government notification dated April 25, and published in the Official Gazette dated April 28, and all other notifications issued in regards of the Government of Goa to reconstitute the GIDC.
