Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who was on a private visit to Belagavi on Thursday, showed interest in the ‘Khau Katta’ at Goaves Circle and has even considered a similar complex at major cities of Goa to showcase Goa and Indian delicacies.
The ‘Khau Katta’ near the Railway Overbridge is a huge complex of about 100 mini food stall serving a variety of Indian delicacies to the gourmets from across the region.
Set amid the picturesque backdrop of lush green trees, the complex has been attracting a large number of visitors, including Goans.
Belagavi South MLA Abhay Patil, who was instrumental in developing the complex, had invited Sawant to visit the place.
Speaking about Sawant's visit and the complex, Patil said the complex is attracting a large number of Goans who visit the Shahapur cloth market.
“The complex has all basic amenities and all hygienic standards are maintained for Goans and gourmets who would like to spend an evening in Belagavi. The Goa CM sought detailed information of the project and showed interest in setting up such a complex at major cities in Goa.”
“He was very impressed with the architecture and ambience at the complex and expressed interest in a similar complex in Goa, so that tourists can taste Goa and Indian delicacies there,” Patil told media persons.
A team of officials and security personnel who accompanied Sawant relished on some of the varieties at the kiosks at Khau Katta.
