Saying that the Shiv Sena is dreaming of forming an alliance in Goa to form a new government in the State, State BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar on Friday asserted that the BJP government headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is stable and has the support of 27 party MLAs.
He also condemned those who swear by Goemkar and Goemkarponn, but are now trying to get the Shiv Sena to Goa, saying the BJP is the only party that can protect the people of Goemkars and Goemkarponn.
Addressing the media at the BJP district party office here on Friday evening in the presence of BJP top leaders, including Minister Milind Naik, former MP Narendra Sawaikar, Damu Naik and Sadanand Tanavade, the BJP President said the BJP will not only complete the current term but will increase its tally of seats after the 2022 Assembly election by three more MLAs.
“Rumours are being floated that the BJP will split, but I want to say with confidence that our flock is not only together, but the tally of seats will rise to 30 in 2020,” he asserted.
Launching a tirade against the Shiv Sena and party leader Sanjay Raut, Vinay said Raut is known for speaking on issues without any basis, while reminding how the Sena leader had targetted Congress President Sonia Gandhi over her foreign origin.
“The Shiv Sena seems to have forgotten everything after it forged an alliance with the NCP and Congress. Raut is day-dreaming of the alliance coming to power. I want to tell the Shiv Sena that the BJP government is strong and stable with the support of 27 MLAs,” he said.
Saying that the BJP had told Sanjay Raut that the party should not hope to win either the Assembly election or the Lok Sabha polls, Vinay pointed out that the Shiv Sena had lost deposit in both the Assembly and the Lok Sabha polls.
“Unlike the Shiv Sena, we have not backstabbed anyone. We have 27 MLAs and this government is working for the people of Goa, irrespective of caste and creed,” he said, while condemning those who swear by Goemkar and Goemkarponn, but are planning to bring in Shiv Sena to form an alliance government.
