Interacting with youth of Ponda on Wednesday, Kejriwal also insisted that since political patronage is encouraging illegal activities in Goa, it was crucial to elect honest politics to do away with illegal activities.
“The nation can’t be run from Delhi, but the powers of Central government should be devolved to state governments. This doesn’t stop here. I would say lessen the powers of state government and empower Gram Sabhas. This is the way nation can develop systematically,” he said.
“Every citizen should be empowered by lessening the powers of the central and state governments,” said Kejriwal. Incidentally, not all eight youth who interacted with Kejriwal asked questions, but some of them expressed their wish to see Goa corruption free and crime free. Education system, road network traffic, Goans taking up jobs abroad were the questions raised by youth present at Savitri hall, Ponda, who were about 1000 odd.
Kejriwal said political patronage in encouraging illegal activities in Goa and drug trade is flourishing here. “Let us elect honest politicians, who will save Goa,” he added.
