School heads to be sensitised about sexual harassment

PANAJI
The State government has organised a special sensitisation workshop on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) for the heads of high schools and higher secondary schools, starting from September 30.

The workshop, to be conducted by the Goa Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (GIPARD) aims to address the issues pertaining to complaints of sexual harassment at the educational institutions.

Last year, Goa reported a few cases of sexual harassment involving school teachers. The Director of Education, Shailesh Zingade, in a circular issued, has directed the Heads of the educational institutions to attend the same.

Further, the DoE has asked all the schools to conduct a road safety awareness campaign and to take a road safety pledge as part of the Road Safety Week celebration from October 14-20.
