A woman while crossing the Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road on NH66 was hit and dragged over 25 metres by a racing two-wheeler rider at Kolsar-Galgibaga in Canacona on Saturday late evening.
According to sources, Vidhya Prabhudesai, a teacher by profession was crossing the MPCBR at Kolsar, and had nearly crossed the outerside white line of the road, when a speeding scooter hit her and dragged her and both the scooter and the woman fell on the road after a distance of 25 metres.
The incident happened around 7 pm, and was caught on a CCTV camera of a nearby highway hotel.
The woman suffered head injuries and was immediately shifted to CHC and from there to SGDH, and thereafter to GMC hospital where the woman was declared out of danger and was recuperating.
Incidentally, sources said the two-wheeler rider also suffered minor injuries in the mishap.
