The Goenchya Kul Mundkarancho Aawaj (GKMA) on Thursday demanded scrapping of all judgement and orders passed by the civil, district or its appellate courts in tenancy cases which were decided in view of tenancy amendment act 2014 and to bring the status of cases to its original stage and start survey of tenants as per rule of 1967.
Addressing a news conference, GKMA convenor Ramkrishna Jalmi placed the new demands. North Goa convenor Adv Satyavan Palkar, Hari Gawade, Krishna Naik, Manohar Naik, Devidas Naik, Narendra Naik, Prakash Naik and Philip Noronha were present. Now with fresh amendment, the government has brought back the cases to revenue court. "But the appellate is the district court. Earlier, it was the Collector's court. Even the appellate should be brought back to its earlier area," Adv Satyavan Palkar demanded.
"The amendments done in 2014 were against tenants. The govt should conduct the survey of tenants as per Agriculture Tenancy Rules 1967," he said.
