Seminar on Bhisma Sahni
PANAJI: The Governor Dr Mridula Sinha inaugurated a three-day national symposium on 'The Creative Contribution of Bhisma Sahni' at Goa University. Minister for Forest and Environment Rajendra Arlekar was the chief guest while Vice Chancellor Dr Satish Shetye was the guest of honour.
The symposium is organized by the Hindi department of Goa University, Kendriya Hindi Nideshalay, New Delhi and Dr Arvind Pandey Manch.
The Governor said that Bhisma Sahni had only progressive ideology and most of his literature was based on women. She quoted Gandhi’s view that India would not have got independence without women participation. She expressed happiness that the symposium is being held in Goa for the benefit of students.
Forest Minister Rajendra Arlekar spoke on Bhism Sahni’s novels and TV serials.
Prof Budhauliya in his keynote address said that Bhism Sahni’s literature is the tradition of Premchand’s esteem and explained many aspects of Sahni’s literature.
Prof Kiran Budkuley, Dean, faculty of languages and literature also spoke on the occasion.
Head of dept of Hindi Prof Ravindranath Mishra welcomed while Dr Anuradha Senger asst director, Kendriya Hindi Nideshalay New Delhi, proposed the vote of thanks.
