Seminar on land regulations

PANAJI: The Institution of Engineers (India), Goa State Centre in association with Institute of Town Planners, India-GRC and Town and Country Planning Department, Goa government is organising a one day seminar on 'The Goa Land Development and Building Constructions Regulations 2010', to deliberate on the existing regulations and formulate the suggestions for better procedures and clarity on the interpretation of various provisions.

The seminar will be held on July 2 at the Multipurpose Hall, Central Library, Panaji, from 9 am to 6 pm.

The seminar is open to all members of the Institution of Engineers, Institute of Town Planners, Indian Institute of Architects, CREDAI and other professionals involved in the process of land development and building construction.

There will be four technical sessions on general requirements, procedures and documentation, CRZ regulations and requirements for development in conservation zone. At the end of these four sessions, there will be a Q&A session to clarify any doubts/queries/questions/interpretation of provisions which will be sent by the delegates in advance along with the registration forms, and to formulate suggestions/recommendations to the government.

In order to ensure that the proceedings of the seminar are held in a well-organized manner, prior registration is necessary along with queries/questions/issue of interpretation of provisions, and registration forms. Willing participants are requested to register latest by June 20 by filling the required form and paying the required fees.

Security guard found hanging at Alto-Dabolim

CORTALIM: A native of Kerala was found hanging in an open air hall at Alto-Dabolim, where he was working as a security guard. According to Verna PI R Kamat, the deceased M Barghese, who is about 45-55 years of age, is suspected to have hung himself on Tuesday night.
