The Shiv Sena on Saturday demanded the disqualification of the Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanch along with three members of the Netravalli panchayat for collecting parking/garbage toll fees without government permission.
While the Shiv Sena has decided to give time for the panchayat authorities to disqualify the panchayat members, the organisation has threatened to knock the doors of the High Court if the authorities fail to disqualify the members for collecting fees without authorisation.
Addressing the media, Shiv Sena vice-president and spokesperson Rakhi Naik said the allegations made by the Shiv Sena that the Netravalli Sarpanch and panch members were collecting the parking/garbage toll fees illegally has been vindicated with the Panchayat Director directing the panchayat to stop the collection.
"The panchayat had levelled false allegation against the Shiv Sena when we raised the issue of the illegal toll collection without approval from the PWD, Forest and the government. Today, our stand has been vindicated with the Panchayat Director directing the Netravalli panchayat to forthwith stop the toll collection," Rakhi told the media.
Saying that the Netravalli panchayat secretary has maintained that he did not provide the Panchayat seal, receipt books for the toll collection, the Shiv Sena spokesperson said this is a fit case for criminal proceedings against the Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanch and the three panchayat members.
"Let the police ascertain how the Sarpanch and his members got hold of the panchayat seal or whether the seal used was a fake one," she said, while demanding the disqualification of the Sarpanch, Deputy Sarpanch and three members of Netravalli panchayat.
