Senior officers of Goa Police reviewed overall arrangements at Manohar International Airport, Mopa as Goa’s second international airport will record its first commercial flight landing from Hyderabad on Friday, January 5.
A high-level team of Director General of Police Jaspal Singh along with Inspector General of Police Omvir Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police Aslam Khan and Bosco George, SP Traffic Bossuet Silva and North SP Nidhin Valsan held a detailed interaction with CISF Commandant, Mopa authorities and the local police to review preparedness for passengers, parking arrangements and status of signages, etc.
“The police inspectors of Mopa airport police station and the traffic police station were advised to ensure that no passenger faces inconvenience as people might not be conversant with the movement plan on the city side of the airport,” DGP said.
After the meeting and personal inspection at the airport, the team reviewed the route and directed to add bold signages and traffic calming measures at human settlement areas en route to the airport. Singh further directed all his staff to immediately report on duty at Mopa airport and requested CISF authorities to deploy stringent security measures.
