PANAJI:
“It is made compulsory for restaurants to have RO filters. Only filtered water should be provided to the customers,” health minister Vishwajit Rane told reporters today.
He said that the team of FDA officials will be inspecting the restaurants, and those who fail to install the filters will have to face action.
“We are giving a time of 30 days for the restaurant owners to fix the filters, failing which they will face action,” Rane said.
The minister has also asked FDA teams to inspect roadside eateries and close down those which are unhygienic and posing threat to the health of customers.
