Setback for Goa Forward, 4 Pilgao panchas join BJP

Four panchas of Pilgao, three of whom were with the Goa Forward Party, joined BJP in the presence of BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade and Mayem MLA Pravin Zantye.

The panchas who joined the BJP were Pilgao Sarpanch Shankar Jalmi (Convenor of Goa Forward Party's ST Wing), Deputy Sarpanch Urmila Gaonkar, Pradip Naik (Mayem block president of Goa Forward Party) and Lalana Gimonkar (Goa Forward Youth Wing General Secretary).

Jalmi, Naik and Gimonkar resigned from the primary membership of Goa Forward Party and joined the BJP, while expressing confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant

They also expressed their desire to work for the development of the village under the guidance and leadership of Mayem MLA Pravin Zantye.

While welcoming them as members of BJP, Tanavade said the party ensures that every karyakarta gets an equal opportunity to rise in the party with their dedicated work.

Zantye welcomed the members and assured to work with them for the development of Pilgao village.

Others present at the occasion included Mayem BJP block president Dayanand Karbotkar, ZP members Mahesh Sawant and Shankar Chodankar, Piligao Panch Sandeep Salelkar, former ZP chairperson Ankita Navelkar and BJP Spokesperson Premanand Mhambrey.
