Seven educators honoured with CM-Vashistha Guru Puraskar at 63rd Teacher’s Day celebration

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant presented the CM-Vashistha Guru Puraskar 2023-24 to seven educators during the 63rd Teacher’s Day celebration held at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Kala Academy, Campal. 


In his address, CM Sawant emphasised the crucial role of teachers as the architects of society, highlighting the need for continuous professional development. He praised Goa’s students for their international achievements in Coding and Robotics, highlighting the importance of career guidance and counselling. Sawant noted that teachers are lifelong change-makers and essential to the vision of Swayampurna Goa.


The awardees included Mahesh Chandrakant Kashalkar and Pratima Prabhu Gaonkar (Primary Category); Sudhir Tukaram Naik and Jyoti Venkatesh Sinari (Secondary Category); Shirishkumar Amshekar (High School Headmaster); Shirish Bhide (Higher Secondary Teacher); and Vithal Parsekar (Higher Secondary Principal).


Secretary of Education, Prasad Lolienkar, also commended teachers for shaping students' futures, noting the importance of "smart teachers for smart classrooms." 


Additionally, ADEIs were honoured for their contributions to the Teachers Welfare Fund.
