A shack was gutted in a fire at Tembwada beach in Morjim on Wednesday evening.

According to Pernem fire personnel, the shack caught fire and all materials in the shack were destroyed.

Since there was no proper approach road to the beach, fire brigade had a tough time reaching the site and extinguish the fire. The shack went up in flames and the shack owner Narendra Purve claimed to have suffered a loss of over Rs 8 lakh.

Fire officials Nakul Vernekar, R K Gawas, Vitthal Parab, Mahadev Gawas, Prashant Dhargalkar, Pradeep Mandrekar and others rushed to the spot.
