Shantadurga Verlekarin jatra at Marcela
PANAJI: The annual Jatrostav of Shree Shantadurga Verlekarin temple at Marcela will be held from December 18 to 20, with religious programmes.
Rituals will start on the morning of Dec 18 with Punyahvachan, mahaabhishek, mahapuja, mahanaivaidh, arti, samradhna. At 3.30 pm a drawing competition for children of Daivadnya Bramhan society will be held followed by a quiz at 5 pm. Palkhi processions are at 8 pm.
On December 19, the programmes will start from Bhivri at 9.30 am, followed by mahaabhishek, mahapuja, mahanaivaidh, arti, samradhan and in the evening from 5 to 7, Deeprantna processions will be held. Palkhi procession will be at 8 pm, followed by fireworks display and auction at 10 pm.
An orchestra by Sachin will present Hindi and Marathi songs.
On December 20 programmes will start with Avli bhojan at 9 am. Palkhi processions will be at 10 am, followed by arti in the afternoon and Samaradhana and concluding ceremony of the festival.
