Shiroda VP to extend area for garbage collection

The Shiroda Panchayat on Sunday decided to extend its area of collecting garbage from door to door.

The gram sabha presided by Sarpanch Amit Shirodkar took the decision to implement door-to-door collection of garbage more effectively to support ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan'.
The villagers said in some areas garbage is scattered and action should be taken. Sarpanch Shirodkar said they will collect the garbage more effectively.
Some parents expressed concern that nefarious activities were taking place in the garden at Karai-Shiroda. Sarpanch Shirodkar assured to look into the matter.
Speaking to The Goan, Shirodkar said some youths were noticed playing cards and liquor bottles were littered in the area.
"We will tell the police to monitor this place. We are also keen to beautify the garden and give good service to the people," he said.
