Exactly a week after the statue and the float was confiscated by the police and kept at the Margao Police station on February 19, Shiv Premis under the banner of Shiv Samraj on Monday took possession of Shivaji statue and the float.
In fact, a group of Shiv Premis descended at the Margao police station on late Monday to take possession of Shivaji statue.
The same was later transferred on another vehicle before it was transported from the Margao railway station.
The Margao police had taken custody of the Shivaji statue and the float after two warring groups of Shiv premis came face to face during the Shiv Jayanti procession taking out in the city on February 19.
The police had later given an option to the two warring sides to come out with a solution or else threatened to write a letter to the district Collector to take appropriate decision.
