A shop was gutted in a fire at Collem on Wednesday night, destroying goods worth an estimated Rs 4 lakh.
The shop owner Yadendra Kavlekar closed his shop ‘Kavalekar General Stores’ at night and had gone home. Some time later, the shop was engulfed in flames. The Curchorem fire station was intimated about the fire and a fire brigade went to the site and extinguished the flames. All goods were destroyed in the fire and a short circuit is believed to have started the fire.
