In a sudden decision, Shraddha Khalap and her husband, Shriniwas Khalap, resigned as primary members of the Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday.
Both have sent their resignation letters to AAP Goa Convenor, Elvis Gomes.
“I submit my resignation of primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party along with all other duties and responsibilities,” said Sharaddha and Shriniwas in their three-line resignation letter.
They, however, have not mentioned any reason to quit the party.
Sharaddha had actively campaigned and unsuccessfully contested on AAP label in the 2017 assembly polls from Mapusa constituency.
With parliamentary elections just four months away and coming from a family with strong political background, their resignations will be viewed with the political lens in the State.
Former union minister and senior Congress leader, Ramakant Khalap is the front runner for the North Goa parliamentary seat.
