The organisers of Timeout-72 hours, which is set to happen at Vagator from December 27 to December 29, expect 30,000 to 45,000 patrons over three days during this electronic-dance-music (EDM) festival's first edition in the state.
Vaishal Shah, promoter, Timeout-72 hours, said, "We are expecting 10,000-15,000 people per day, which means 30,000-45,000 people over 3 days of the event."
The organisers also sounded confident that they would get all the no-objection-certificates from the state government before the EDM starts on December 27. Ayush Mehta, promoter, Timeout-72 hours, said, "We have got most of the NOC's including that from GCZMA. Before we start, we will have the rest of the NOCs."
Emphasising that it is a very different EDM from other such events, Shah added, "There will be live music by artists like Lucky Ali for those patrons who are not interested in EDM/psychedelic kind of music." Several other artists will be performing at Timeout-72 hours like Jason Derulo, Prateek Kuhad, Justin Mylo, Sem Vox, Lucas and Steve and many others.
Ever since Sunburn and Supersonic moved out of Goa last year, this is the first time that a major EDM is happening in the state.
Argha Chatterjee, partner, Timeout-72 hours, said, "We have made adequate security arrangements, as there will be 800 security personnel inside the venue. Moreover, there will be 20 ICU beds for medical emergencies. We have a disaster management team as well."
The organisers shed light on their future plans as well, as they said that they would like to come back to Goa again next year. Mehta said, "We will try to organise Timeout next year in Goa as well. It will be our calendar event."
Meanwhile, it was also clarified that music will be played at Timeout from 12 noon to 10 pm everyday because the state laws don't allow for music after 10 pm on most days.
When asked how Goans will benefit from Timeout-72 hours, an organiser replied, "We have engaged 5,000 people to build this venue here. 60% of entire crew is Goan. Moreover, there will be a flea market inside the event, which will have 20-22 stalls, all run by Goans."
