Union Minister for Ayush, Shripad Naik on Saturday said the Modi Sarkar has given corruption-free governance in the last four years and appealed to the people to re-elect the BJP-led NDA government in the Centre in 2019.
“During the earlier governments, we have seen financial scams at the drop of the hat. But in the last four years, we have seen clean governance without a single corruption tag attributed to the government. This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biggest achievement,” Naik said.
The Union minister was speaking during the flagging of the bike rally to commemorate completion of four years of Modi’s government at the Centre.
Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo, Aldona MLA Glen Ticlo, former WRD minister Dayanand Mandrekar and ex-MLA Kiran Kandolkar, Mapusa Municipal Council Chairperson Rohan Kavlekar, councillors and other BJP leaders were also present on the occasion.
Continuing further, the union minister said Modi government has carried out a lot of development work in the country notably among them being the massive road projects in the country.
“While Congress government was completing 11 kms of road work in a day, BJP-led NDA government has been taking up 28 kms of road work in a day,” he said.
Calling elected representatives as servants, and people as masters, Naik said that government was answerable to the people.
“We will continue to work for the people with renewed vigour,” he said.
He said the significance of the rally was to place the achievements of the four year rule of the Modi-led NDA government before the masses.
Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo said the youth and mahila were the backbone of the party and expected them to re-elect the NDA government in 2019.
“In 2014, we had bagged 286 seats. This time, we have to increase the seat count by 10 more,” Lobo said.
He said the BJP bandwagon was rolling at a fast clip mainly on the development platform.
“More than Rs 500 crore has been brought to the State for development of the coastal circuit. Similarly, a lot of central funds have been channelised to Goa for development,” he said.
Lobo credited Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Union Minister Shripad Naik for bringing central funds to the State.
Aldona MLA Glen Ticlo also spoke on the occasion.
