The SIT (Land Grabbing) at Ribandar arrested Amruth Govekar on charges of forging documents and getting a property in Assagao transferred in his name.
A complaint was lodged by Neil Francis and Florence Francis, both residents of Mumbai, alleging that the accused, Amrut Govekar of Anjuna, and his accomplices prepared forged documents and produced the same before authorities as genuine and succeeded in transferring the ownership rights of the property at Assagao in their name, thereby cheating the complainant.
The accused, Amrut Govekar, was arrested and offences were registered under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 r/w 34 of IPC. Further investigation is in progress.
