The skeleton remains of the wife of freedom fighter late Vaman Radhakrishna was found in her bungalow behind Kavlekar supermarket at Porvorim.
According to Porvorim Police, the incident came to light on Wednesday when the brother of Padmashree Radhakrishna had gone to Porvorim to meet her. Padmashree had been residing alone in her bungalow at Porvorim.
On realising that the door had been latched from the inside and Padmashree was not responding to the door bell, the brother then contacted the Porvorim police.
Porvorim police later summoned a fire brigade and the door was opened. On entering the bungalow, police found the skeletal remains of the woman on the ground floor.
Police said all household items in the bungalow were intact and there was no sign of theft.
After conducting a panchnama, police sent the skeletal remains to the Goa Medical College hospital at Bambolim for a post mortem. Police have registered the case as unnatural death.
On conducting further inquiries, police was informed that a meter reader from the electricity department had last seen Padmashree in October 2018. Police suspect that Padmashree may have died sometime in the last four months.
