South Goa Police sensitise officers on Emigration Act to combat job scams

In a bid to sensitise police officers on the Emigration Act, 1983, the South Goa police on Tuesday roped in the Protector of Emigrants, Bengaluru, Avaneesh Shukla, to explain the law in force and to protect the interests of job seekers.

The programme was arranged by District Police Chief, SP Sunita Sawant, in view of the recent cases of job recruitment scams targeting the public in the state and abroad. Avaneesh Shukla, Protector of Emigrants, Bengaluru, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, delivered an awareness session and talk.

PONDA  Mardol police arrested Aniket Kandolkar (27) of Marcela late Monday night in connection with a job-for-cash scam.  Kandolkar is allegedly an accomplice of Dipashree Sawant who is in police custody.  Ponda police had tried to arrest Kandolkar in connection with similar accusations, but Kandolkar had obtained an anticipatory bail from the court fearing arrest.  Mardol police then interrogated Aniket Kandolkar on Monday and…
