While Police SP Sammy Tavares helped save the life of a man attacked by a gang at the Arlem Junction on Tuesday, Police SP (Traffic) Dinraj Govekar on Tuesday turned a Good Samaritan and won admiration after he shifted two accident victims to a hospital in his official car on Wednesday morning.
According to residents, Govekar who lives in Vidhyanagar Colony near MES College was proceeding towards the Airport when he noticed two victims of a road mishap.
"The accident occurred along the NH17B at MES college Junction in Zuarinagar when two persons riding towards the airport fell on the road after their bike skidded,” said a resident in the area.
“Almost at same time, SP Dinraj Govekar who was also proceeding towards Airport road noticed the injured persons and rushed to their rescue. He also got them shifted to the Chicalim Cottage hospital in his official car.”
"We have seen how police can be real heroes and how their quick actions can help save lives,” the resident added.
