Special gram sabhas have been convened in all panchayats across the State on Sunday to discuss the ‘Har Ghar Jal Certification’ under Jal Jeevan Mission and to provide information to farmers about the National Kisan Credit Card scheme.
“The gram sabhas have been convened as part of the programme to celebrate National Panchayat Raj day. The Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj will review the programmes that will be conducted in Goa”, said Prasid Naik, a Block Development Officer.
The gram sabhas are being convened as per a circular of the PWD and agriculture department to all panchayats through the Directorate of Panchayats.
“Agriculture officials, Central Service Centre personnel and bank officials will provide information at the gram sabha about the agriculture schemes,” informed Director of Agriculture Nevil Alphonso.
It was recently announced that Goa had attained 100 per cent connections through the Har Ghal Jal Yojna. The PWD has asked all panchayats to discuss the Har Ghar Jal certification at the gram sabhas.
