The annual Novena and Feast of St Francis Xavier will be celebrated from November 24 (Monday) to December 3 (Wednesday), 2025, at the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa, under the theme, “Faith Does Not Disappoint Us, Hence Like St Francis Xavier, Let Us Be Pilgrims of Hope.”
Daily Masses will be held at 6:00 am, 7:15 am, 8:30 am, 9:45 am, 11:00 am, 3:30 pm, 5:00 pm, and 6:15 pm in English. On the Feast Day, December 3, Masses will be celebrated at 3:45 am, 5:00 am, 6:00 am, 7:15 am, 8:30 am, 10:30 am (Solemn High Mass), 12:15 pm, 3:30 pm, 5:00 pm, and 6:15 pm (English). Special services include the Maddi on November 23 with a 6:00 pm Mass followed by the ceremony, daily Adoration and Intercession from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Confession from 5:30 am to 11:30 am and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. An Inter-Religious Meet will take place on November 27 at 9:45 am, followed by a Konkani Mass, while special Masses include the Canon’s Mass on November 30 at 9:45 am and the Pilgrim’s Mass on December 2 at 12:15 pm. There will be no Mass, Confession, or Adoration on November 25 at 11:00 am and on the Feast Day.
Each novena day’s 3:30 pm Mass will be dedicated to a Diocesan Center or group: November 24 to Caritas, CSJP, DC–Ecology, DCSCM; November 25 to DYC and DCC; November 26 to DCLA, DPS, and the Apostolate of Widows/Seniors (Day of the Sick); November 27 to DSE, ABE, SVES, and the Educational Apostolate; November 28 to DFSC, DCSM, and DC Sacred Art & Heritage; November 29 to Priests and Religious, and the Ecclesiastical Institute of Priestly Formation; November 30 to DCL and DCBA; December 1 to the Diocese Apostolate of IRD, Ecumenism, DCMA, and PMO; and December 2 to Consecrated Women and the Ecclesiastical Institute of Women Religious Formation.
Language Masses will be celebrated on November 29 at 12:15 pm in Marathi; November 30 at 11:00 am in Tamil, 12:15 pm in Malayalam, and 2:00 pm for Migrants (Hindi); and on December 2 at 11:00 am in Portuguese.
