PANAJI: Congress leader Girish Chodankar on Sunday inspected the Mala bridge and questioned Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for making it a one way.
He said, when the issue was raised about the alignment of the bridge due to which Mala side would become a accident-prone zone, I was ridiculed by Parrikar using Panjim Corporators. Chodankar said his claim was justified by the Government by making the new bridge one way which was built by spending crores of rupees. I see no other reason to make the bridge one way, t
his clearly vindicates my earlier stand.
Although the bridge is notified one way but it is observed that cars are still coming from Patto side posing huge risk of accidents in Mala side due to wrong alignment of the bridge, again claimed Chodankar.
Chodankar also visited Ribander part of Panjim Constituency and claimed water is still an unresolved issue and people continue to face difficulties due to this.
