As part of the celebrations for World Tourism Day 2025 on September 27, the Department of Tourism, along with the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), SKAL International Goa and Yuva Tourism Clubs, is organising a series of events across the state highlighting Goa’s heritage, biodiversity, local communities and cuisine.
Events have already begun with students from Yuva Tourism Clubs joining activities such as ‘Uncover Hidden Treasures of Old Goa’ (Sept 13) and an Electric Cycle Tour with bread-making (Sept 16).
The public schedule has also started, with a Bioluminescence Forest Walk held on September 17 and a Cruise & Kayaking Trail on
September 18.
Upcoming events include a Picnic by a Forest Stream at Folgar (Sept 19), Retracing Monte Santo Heritage Walk (Sept 20), Evening River Cruise and Electric Cycle Tour at Chorao (Sept 21), Aguad Heritage Walk (Sept 21), ‘Life of Pao’ bread-making session (Sept 22), and a Mulgao Folk Village and Coconut Farming Experience (Sept 24).
Cooking competitions at IIHM Goa (Sept 17“18) and IHM Goa (Sept 22“23) will put the spotlight on Goan cuisine. Inclusive programmes include a special Boat Cruise for persons with disabilities, senior citizens and orphanage children (Sept 26), followed by a dedicated cruise for special children from Rotary (Sept 27).
The Grand Hyatt will host the state’s largest Tourism Stakeholders’ Meet on September 27 with the Vincent Ramos Scholarship, the launch of MICE promotion and the announcement of a MICE Bureau.
The celebrations will conclude with a Film Festival at ESG on September 28 focusing on conservation and sustainability.
