The Southwest monsoon continued its tryst with Goa for the second day as most parts of the State received moderate to heavy rainfall on Saturday.
As usual, water logging and puddles on roads caused some inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists.
There were reports of landslides on the NH66 at Cortalim even as rain-related incidents continued to pour in from different parts of the State.
Several areas, particularly the 18th June Road in the capital city were inundated due to heavy showers.
Water also made its way into a popular school in Panaji.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Valpoi clocked the highest rainfall of 106.2 mm in the last 24 hours followed by Quepem with 97.2 mm and Sanguem with 83.4 mm.
Margao received the least amount of rain at 45 mm.
The maximum temperature recorded at Panaji was 28.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 23.2.
According to the IMD, Goa will continue to get moderate thundershowers while heavy rainfall is very likely at a few places with very heavy rainfall at isolated places for the next four days.
Due to active monsoon conditions, squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-50 km/h gusting to 60 km/h was likely to prevail along and off the Maharashtra-Goa coast for the next four days.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture along and off the South Maharashtra-Goa coast in the next four days.
