Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has said Medical Mobile Units (MMUs) would be launched in the State soon.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for a proposed beautification at Usgao, Rane said MMUs would be a top priority of State government.
Elaborating on the new concept of Medical Mobile Units, Rane said: “The key strategy of MMU is to facilitate access to public healthcare, particularly to people living in remote areas.”
“The main objective of this concept is to take healthcare to the doorstep of people, particularly in rural, vulnerable and under-served areas. MMU services are envisaged to meet the technical and service quality standards for a Primary Health Centre, through provision of a suggested package of service,” the minister said.
Others present on the occasion were ZP Member Dnyaneshwar Naik, Usgao-Ganjem Sarpanch Asmita Gaude, Deputy Sarpanch Ramnath Dangui, GSIDC Manager Sripad Walawalkar and panchayat members.
The beautification work includes illumination of the road with decorative streetlights from Usgao bridge to Tisk-Usgao circle towards Ganjem and Usgaon circle towards Khandepar, construction of pathways in 11 wards at important locations.
Sarpanch Asmita Gaude, Ramnath Dangui and Dinesh Tari also spoke.
