The state government is set to establish the Goa State Audio Visual Archives to document and preserve the cultural and historical heritage of the coastal state.
Rohit Kadam, Director of Archives, said the government has given administrative approval for the creation of the archives, as outlined in the State Budget for 2025-26.
Kadam explained that the Goa State Audio Visual Archives will act as a central hub for collecting, documenting, preserving, and digitising audio and visual material related to the cultural, historical, social, and artistic heritage of the state.
“The Archives will aim to safeguard Goa’s rich intangible heritage, oral history, folk traditions, and other audio-visual records for future generations,” he added.
