Stop playing cheap politics, Avertano hits out at Faleiro

Faleiro is going around and saying that I should take tuitions for five years before contesting the next election. I am not opposed to taking tuitions, but I would like to tell Faleiro that he needs extra classes for the simple reason that after taking tuitions from Congress president Sonia Gandhi for the last 10 years he could not form the government despite the mandate given by the people.”rn”Avertano Furtado

Sending a message loud and clear that nothing will prevent him from completing all ongoing developmental projects initiated by him during his five-year tenure, former Fisheries Minister Avertano Furtado on Monday hit out at Luizinho Faleiro saying the Navelim MLA should try and get new projects for Navelim instead of playing cheap politics.
He further disclosed plans to take on the Navelim MLA in the next Assembly election and defeat him. “Faleiro is going around and saying that I should take tuitions for five years before contesting the next election. I am not opposed to taking tuitions, but I would like to tell Faleiro that he needs extra classes for the simple reason that after taking tuitions from Congress president Sonia Gandhi for the last 10 years he could not form the government despite the mandate given by the people,” Avertano told the media flanked by George Barretto and Navelim Sarpanch Frank Fernandes.
Demanding to know why the Navelim MLA is upset with his presence in the constituency, Avertano reminded that he had promised Navelkars to complete projects including the seven football grounds, the NH-17 widening, indoor stadium with joggers track et al. “Have I committed any wrong If I have supervised these ongoing works initiated by me during the last five years? Let Faleiro bring in more works in Navelim, I have no problem,” he said, adding, “Let Faleiro explain to Navelkars why he could not get a 10-bedded hospital in the village when he had ruled the constituency for 26 long years.” Producing before the media the road map a file containing estimates and tenders of various projects, the former Fisheries Minister said “I fails to understand why Faleiro thinks I’m a threat for him.” “Instead of trying to find out what I am doing in Navelim, let him get new projects for the people of the constituency,” he added.
Saying that he had worked for the welfare of the people, Avertano said he had never used his position to make money. “Today, I can walk with my head held high in Navelim and across Goa since there’s not a single corruption charge against me. Yes, the people have not re-elected me, but I have no corruption case pending against me,” Avertano asserted
